Dear Members,

The ongoing works are progressing and all involved would like to thank you for your patience and understanding with the disruptions.

The current position is as follows:

The earth works around the second green have been completed and sodding should start next week. The temporary green will remain in play for the moment.

The mainline drainage has been placed on both the second and third fairways. However the secondary drains have been delayed due to the soft ground and this will be revisited at a time in the future when conditions are more suitable.

The water line from the bore hole right of the second has now reached the reservoir tank left of the eight fairway and the mainline irrigation line is almost fully laid. A new green sprinkler system is laid on the third green with just head units to be positioned on 2nd after sodding. Over the next 2/3 weeks this mainline will be connected into existing green/tee sprinkler network in other areas of the course.

Works to the ninth tee and the proposed pond area have now started. To facilitate this it is necessary to close the tee area.

Until further notice the ladies will now play from the eighteenth tee and the men will play from a temporary tee to the right of the eight green.

While these works are going on it is imperative that you do not enter the works area.

As already communicated to you all disturbed ground due to works including machine tracks and traffic damage is covered by GUR rule and relief can be taken.

Finally the 2nd/3rd holes will remain open and no further closures are envisaged in the near future.

As a footnote our agronomist visited today and was extremely happy with the coring programme and the quality of the putting surfaces at this stage of the year.
