Killiney girls first appearance in The Elm Park trophy ended in a commendable overall third place finish this Sunday. The competition has been running over six rounds over the summer with eleven clubs involved. The small panel of seven girls have performed consistently throughout. They got off to a flying start by winning the first round at Woodbrook . On Sunday they entered the final round in overall fourth position. Despite heavy rain the girls battled hard and in particular a great round by Rachel Hartnett (38 pts) meant Killiney came third on the day and overtook Castle GC in the overall standings.

It was a real team effort. The panel- Emma Savage, Emily Gordon, Rachel, Hartnett, Caitlin Sherin, Tessa May, Cornelia Mc Namara and Katie Jane Marshall - all contributed to the overall result. Killiney junior girls certainly impressed on their first appearance.

Special mention must be made to ( the not so Junior!) Mieke Mc Namara for all her dedication, support and organisation .

Well done!
