Competition opens for booking Friday 22nd September
This is an invitational competition open to any combination of players. Tee times are between 11.40 and 3.00 (May vary according to demand). You can book for just two people or a full line.
There will be two events running consecutively; one an 8 hole 2 person better ball event, followed by a separate fastest hole competition for all 4 Players on hole 9. The 2 Person teams can be any combination including one qualifying Junior (Boys 20 Girls 36 Handicap).
The main prizes will be for event 1, with a smaller prize for event 2 which is meant to be for fun and the chance of beating last years time. You do not need to compete in event 2 if you do not wish to.
How does the fastest hole work?
Basically when you arrive at hole 9 one of the team will stay on the tee box while the rest of the team walks on. Another team member will stop where the drive is expected to land and the last two members will walk towards the green. When everyone is in place the first player drives and jumps into a waiting buggy in case he is needed to finish the hole, the second player gets to the ball and hits it towards the green. The remaining two players attempt to finish the hole. If they have not succeeded then the first and second player must finish it off.
The winner is the team who completes the hole in the fastest time. There should be very little running involved you will win by accurate golf.
Costs will be €10 per Player to include refreshment on the terrace
To complete the day we have also organised dinner serving between 5 30 and 6.15 Pm. This will consist of Starter, Main Course, and Tea or Coffee. Cost €24.00 Book for Dinner at the restaurant, or by phoning the office.
