Captain Ted McCourt who normally spends the winter on cruise ships getting to see the world and gives talks on the Safety of Aviation has very kindly offered to give a talk at the club on this subject.

The talk has a PowerPoint presentation with excellent slides to cover each item discussed.

The content will be wide ranging to cover things like:

  • Black Boxes
  • Disappearance of flight MH 370
  • What happened on the Hudson
  • What happened to the Concorde
  • How aircraft fly
  • How pilots navigate
  • What causes accidents
  • How pilots are trained
  • How aircraft avoid each other in flight
  • When is Pilot Error just a Human Factor etc.

Ted will be open to questions from the floor after the talk.
