On Friday 3rd May Killiney beat Carrickmines 3 matches to 2.
A win by Paraic Lavelle & Kieran Killeen secured Killiney’s first point on the 17th. Match 2 went Carrickmines way with Jim Mountjoy and Conor Sharon not having much joy on the day. Match 3 went Killiney’s way with a great display by Paul Phelan and Gavin Murray winning 2&1 having been 2 down earlier in the match. Jim Lawler and Fearghal McEvatt were beaten so it was down to the last match VC Brendan Seaver and Donn O’Shaughnessy. The pair were 1 down after 13 but a birdie by Donn on 14th, a birdie by Brendan on the 16th and 2 epic second shots onto the dance floor on the 17th left the carrickmines lads a bit dazed. A great win for Killiney and 2nd round will be v Grange or Kilmashogue.
