On Thursday 15 August, led by Club Captain Brendan Barrett and Plummers Captain Ronan King, twelve Killiney Plummers headed out boldly for the Dublin foothills and the lush pastures of Edmondstown Golf Club. Their quest? To retrieve the "Hand of Friendship" trophy last held (outright) in 2012. In a splendid, nail-biting match that came down to the wire, Killiney prevailed - by the narrowest of margins.

We were warmly welcomed and royally entertained by Captain Tom O'Dowd, Pat Conway the Edmondstown 44s. This annual fixture has been played for over 20 years in a wonderful spirit of bonhomie and fun. And once again - the "Hand of Friendship" resides in the Killiney trophy cabinet for another year.

Well done to the mighty Plummers!
