Date: 5th September 2015

The sun shone, the wind blew, we dined on fruit and seeds courtesy of the Captain, and we enjoyed a brilliant day's golf. However one man enjoyed his day a little (actually quite a lot ) more than the rest of us ! David Sullivan shot a magnificent 66 to win by 4 shots. recording one of the largest ever margins of victory in the Captains Prize,. Out in 40 shots off 16 handicap, he covered the homeward journey in 42 shots for a gross score of 82, nett 66. Gavin Murray took second place with a very respectable score of 70, and the evergreen George Beamish finished with a 71 for third place, the highlight of his round being birdies on the 16th and 18th. Nigel Duke celebrated his call up to the Irish Seniors Team by shooting 72 to win best gross, a tremendous score on a tough day. We also had a Hole-In-One from Bryan O'Neill at the 14th, his 4 iron shot finding the bottom of the cup. Many thanks to our Captain Ken McCullagh for a terrific day, his prize of an antique decanter was very well received and everyone enjoyed a great day's golf and an even better evenings entertainment ! Over to you Gordon.....
