Gentlemen,
The sun may be shining but the nights are getting longer and regretfully the summer golf season is coming to a close. We have plenty of golf to look forward to however over the next few months.
We are holding a men’s prize presentation in the club tomorrow evening, 16th October at 6.30pm. We will be presenting prizes for six competitions including the Lady Captain’s prize to the Men, together with the Golfer of the Year prizes. It is being held on a Friday evening for a change and I would encourage you to join the prize-winners for a drink and a bite after work.
The men’s competitions being held on the next two Saturdays, 17th and 24th October, will be the last competitions for handicap purposes for the year and the last singles will be held on Saturday 7th November.
The Men’s Hamper competition will take place on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November. As in previous years you can choose a partner and play on both days. The timesheets will go live on Thursday 22nd.
We will be starting the Men’s Scotch foursome competitions on Saturday 14th November with the Mini-hamper being held on Saturday 21st November.
As you are aware over the last number of months the Course Development Committee have being preparing a strategic master plan for the course. The plan is available to view on the website and in the clubhouse and I would encourage everyone to have a read through it as it provides plenty of food for thought. The architects involved in the plan will be in the club next Thursday evening, 22nd October, at 7pm to present the plan to all the membership and answer any questions. It should be an informative evening and everyone is welcome.
Enjoy your golf,
Ken McCullagh
