Date posted: Sunday 15th March 2020

Following the Government announcement this evening regarding the closure of Public Houses, the Covid-19 Council sub-committee met this evening and have decided to close the Clubhouse with immediate effect.

This means there will be no access to the Clubhouse for members and the proshop will be closed until further notice. Anyone wishing to collect personal belongings from the clubhouse locker rooms can do so tomorrow Monday 16th March between 10 – 12 noon and 6 - 7 pm tomorrow.

This week the men’s and ladies’ competitions will go ahead on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday - this is subject to change. Competition cards and a competition box will be available in the basement locker area which will be open daily. Please return your competition card in the box provided. All other competitions including the Seniors competition and the Ladies fourball competitions ARE CANCELLED until further notice.

Casual golf for all members remains open by booking through the BRS timesheet.

Juniors wishing to play casual golf can only do so in PAIRS, should not congregate on the golf club grounds either before or after play and must leave the premises promptly after play. Juniors are not allowed to use the practice area or practice putting green at any time.

The office will be closed to all members, but the staff will be working remotely should you wish to contact them regarding any matter. Please use our telephone or email address.

Again, to ensure the ongoing safety of every member we are also updating to our policy regarding access to the golf course;

1. Remain away from the course if you have returned in the past 14 days from ANY travel abroad (not just the affected areas as listed on previous correspondence).

2. Remain away from the course for 14 days if you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of the coronavirus either before or after that person experienced any symptoms and was subsequently found positive.

3. Remain away if you are feeling unwell or have symptoms associated with Covid 19 and do not visit the club until you are well and without symptoms for a minimum of 14 days.

Please be mindful of the HSE social distancing guideline of 2 metres, before during and after your game.

To paraphrase our Taoiseach, during these challenging times we have to care for each other and look after each other more than ever - something the members of Killiney Golf Club have always excelled at.

Your sincerely,
Roisin McCarron
Honorary Secretary
