Date posted: 23rd June 2020

Hi All,

Hopefully, we are finally seeing some chinks of light at the end of the tunnel. Phase 3 is currently due to take effect from Monday 29th June. Under this phase we will be moving from 14 minute to 12-minute tee time intervals.  The 12-minute intervals will be introduced from Monday the 29th. We will remain at 9 holes only and most of the golf will remain casual. Ladies and Mens competitions will resume on the 2nd and 4th of July, respectively. Whilst these remain 9 hole there will be plenty of casual times available on both days also. From Monday the 29th June you may also invite a guest. Please see below for guest booking procedure. The Wednesday morning Junior Competition is also being reinstated and Juniors can now play unsupervised. Friday morning will be back to casual golf.

Matchplay draws for our internal competitions have been completed and matches can commence from 29th June. As we are endeavoring to get all internal matches played between now and 20th September, we will be adding dedicated tee times five days a week for internal matches. Please respect these and only book if you are playing a match. If these are free on the day of play you may book for a casual game. You do not have to play your match in these times but please get all matches played by the due dates as there will be no extensions granted in any of the competitions under any circumstances.

If the GUI/ILGU move to allow 10-minute intervals we will look to introduce this change on Sunday, the 5th July and in tandem with that will likely reintroduce an 18-hole option along with other regular weekly competitions.

Once again thank you to all our members who have downloaded the Clubnet App. There has been a great response so far. If you have not done so and have a compatible phone or tablet, we would encourage all to do so. If you need any assistance, please contact Niall in the office who will be glad to help. All those taking part in this week’s test will get full instructions on score entry the evening before your competition.

As tee time spacing has been reduced it is important to keep up the pace of play. An average fourball should complete the nine holes in around 1 hour 50 minutes.

Timesheets for Sunday 28th to Saturday 4th July will open on Wednesday at 19:00.

Please continue to observe the following basic rules.

Guests will be allowed from 29th June. Please pre book your Guest with the Proshop. The Guest name must be on the timesheet and contact details must also be given at registration. We request members to ensure that their guests follow the guidelines and obey the instructions.

Juniors may invite guests who are U18 but only if they are members of another club and must produce their GUI/ILGU card on arrival.

Members and their guests who have been out of the country in the previous 14 days should not visit the Club.

Members and their guests should not visit the Club if displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been in contact with any person displaying symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days.
