COVID-19

An Taoiseach announced the road map to ease nationwide restrictions on Friday 1st May. It has been confirmed through the GUI / ILGU that golf courses may re-open on the 18th May, albeit with severe restrictions still in place.

We have already commenced work on our return to golf protocols and these will mirror those that the GUI / ILGU will issue to clubs shortly. It will be a requirement that clubs and their members strictly adhere to these protocols.

It is important to note that should the Covid-19 situation regress or should there be transgressions of the protocol, the Council via the Covid-19 Committee, the GUI/ILGU or the Government may reintroduce a complete ban.

The Covid-19 Committee and Captains will send the return to golf protocols to all members in the coming days. Please ensure that you read them fully as they will contain important information for your safety as well as booking rules, available facilities and instructions for use of the course.

We look forward to getting back to golf on the 18th May and all going well, a progressive relaxation of the restrictions thereafter.

Funnies

Hi Niall,

I am most disappointed.

I pressed ‘Accept Cookies’ during my Killiney Golf Club website entry attempt to last Wednesday, and a week later no cookies have arrived. Mary and I can’t leave the house due to this Covid lockdown thing as we are both over 70 (hard to believe I know) and I am craving a Marietta.

Can I send a courier?

Yours in anticipation

Mick Hilary
