Gary Ryan’s 2024 Captain’s Prize
Gary Ryan’s 2024 Captain’s Prize takes place on Saturday, 7th September followed by dinner and prize presentations that evening.
The Qualifying Rounds for the Captain’s Prize will be Singles Stableford on:
Thursday, 29th August (Timesheet Currently open)
Saturday, 31st August (Timesheet opens tomorrow Thursday 22nd Aug @ 8.00pm)
Sunday, 1st September (Timesheet opens tomorrow Thursday 22nd Aug @ 8.00pm)
The Captain’s Prize is open to all male members who have submitted a total of fifty-four holes of qualifying golf in this calendar year, not including the Captains Prize Qualifying round. This includes Seniors and Plummers competitions as well as regular weekend competitions. The Captain’s Prize Qualifying Competition is Stableford, and the Captain’s Prize is Strokeplay. Please note, maximum scoring is not in operation for the Captain’s Prize.
You must have a Golf Ireland handicap to play in the Captain’s Prize. Players with a fully developed handicap index (calculated from twenty acceptable scores) will be eligible to win any prize. Players who do not have a fully developed handicap index will not be eligible to win the first prize but will be eligible to win any of the other prizes. Juniors are not allowed to play in the Captain’s Prize.
The Captain’s Plate is a 9 Hole Competition open to all male members who are not playing in the Captain’s Prize. It takes place on Friday 6th September. The timesheet for the Captain’s Plate opens at 6.30pm on Sunday September 1st. There is no entry fee for the Captain’s Plate.
There is a Putting Competition open to all members sponsored by Aidan Clarke on the Captain’s Prize Day. Entry is free and the scorecards will be available in the Pro Shop.
The timesheet draw for the Captain’s Prize will take place in the Clubhouse at 6:30pm on Sunday, 1st September.
The Table Booking List for the Captain's Dinner will be placed in the Men's Locker Room Friday, 23rd August 2024.
Plummers
Congratulations to the Killiney Plummers team on their victory over a tenacious Greystones 1895’s team in a close-run match played in Killiney last Friday, 16th August. The Cú Chulainn trophy has now made its way back to Killiney from Greystones after this year’s annual challenge.
Well done to all on a fantastic team performance. Killiney were represented by Colm O’Rourke, Ray Woodroofe, David Reynolds, David Little, David Murphy, Paul Kennan, Michael Sweeney, Colm Dennehy, Ted McCourt and Cormac Kilty.
