Qualifying for Captain Brendan Seaver's Prize will take place on Saturday 28th August and Sunday 29th August. The time sheets open today Thursday at 8pm. As usual the qualifying competition will be Stableford. Our medal winners from this year gain automatic qualification. The total number of qualifying spots remaining (98) will be prorated between Saturday and Sunday and will depend on the number of entrants on both days. The draw for timesheet spaces will take place on Sunday evening at 6:30pm on the veranda at the Clubhouse. Qualifiers will be called in score order to choose their preferred timesheet slot for Saturday the 4th. Round 1 will be only for those present, Round 2 will be for those present to allocate other colleagues, Round 3 will see the remaining slots allocated. The Captain's Prize will then take place on Saturday 4th of September and will be a Strokes competition. To be eligible to play in this event you must have played in three handicap qualifying events in Killiney before Saturday the 28th of August. The time sheet will run in 3 balls from 7:15am through to 15:48 pm. Time intervals will be 8 minutes.
There will be a putting competition kindly sponsored by Aidan Clarke running all day. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, at this stage we are planning to hold the prize presentation immediately after the event at 8pm outdoors (weather permitting) in line with Government public health advice and related regulations. The Captain's Prize event will then be concluded. The dining room will be open for members use. There will be both indoor and outdoor options available.
Tables indoors will seat maximum 6 guests, tables outdoors (within the new heated areas) will seat 4 guests. Multiple table bookings are not permitted indoors. We would ask members to contact Mags in the office to pre-book their tables. You will be asked for all members' names who will be seated at your table at the time of booking. If you wish to make a reservation for less than six indoors or four outdoors please advise Mags in the office of your parties number and these will be accommodated accordingly.
Dinner booking opens on Tuesday 24th at 10:00am. In line with Government public health advice and related regulations, members who wish to dine indoors must: 1. Be able to provide evidence of their vaccine certificate; 2. Be aware that intermingling between tables is not permitted; 3. Note that the premises must be clear of all members by 11:30pm. 4. Remember that face coverings should be worn by members at all times indoors other than when seated at their table.
