KILLINEY GOLF CLUB
{{date}}

Dear {{firstname}},

I hope you enjoyed the brief summer vibe we received last weekend and yesterday afternoon - hopefully that was not our summer and only a taste of what is to follow over the next few months.  It was so nice to feel a bit of heat on the bones, it has been a long time coming!
Our Interclub match season is really hotting up now! This week we will have the Leinster Women's Trophy and the Men's Jimmy Bruen (see details below). This means the course will continue be too busy over the next few weeks and we would like to thank members for their support and patience.  All our Interclub team members really appreciate all the help, cheering, time and effort supporting members give to them.  Every little helps!
Good Luck to all our members playing in the Killiney Mixed Qualifier this Sunday.  We still have availability so grab a partner and enter today!
A reminder that the timesheet opens this evening at 7pm for our Fiesta Mexicana 9 & Dine taking place on Friday 10th May.  Clink on the link for further details.

COURSE UPDATE
Placing in all areas to remain in place this weekend.
The 6th green will reopen tomorrow Thursday 25th April and will remain in play through Sunday 28th April. It will be closed Monday 29th through Wednesday 1st May for rest and maintenance. Please note the bunkers will remain GUR. (We are hopeful the course will be dry enough next week to allow the sand to be delivered and transported across).  The current plan is to open the 6th Green permanently on Thursday 2nd May when we also expect to remove placing and return to summer rules and handicap qualifying rounds. The 7th green is now starting to knit and we estimate it is approximately 3/4 weeks away from being playable.
Please remember the 3 R's: Repair Pitchmarks  -  Rake Bunkers  -  Replace and Sand Divots.
Rule 16.1   Relief from abnormal course conditions.
Free relief is allowed when the ball is in the general area and there is interference by an abnormal course condition.
The nearest point of complete relief not nearer the hole should be identified and a ball must be dropped in and come to rest in the relief area.
The relief area is one club length from the reference point, is not nearer to the hole than the reference point and must be in the general area.
When taking relief, the player must take complete relief from all interference by the abnormal course condition.

NEW 6th GREEN
'Out with the Old, In with the New'...
During the Best Cup Match v Craddockstown on Monday last, 22nd April, the new 6th green was brought into play for the first time. To no-ones regret, the old temporary green was stood down. The honour of placing the flag into the center of the new 6th fell to Ronan King.

LOST AND FOUND
