Captains Gary & Lelia were only two of the stars to appear in Killiney last week! On Thursday 15th March, we had a medical emergency when Ronan King suffered a seizure on 9th. Very, very fortunately due to the fantastic efforts of his playing partners John Power & Arthur Doran and the ladies playing immediately behind (Saundra Waldron, Sandra Delaney & Claire Blake) and Niall in the Bar, Ronan survived what proved to be a brain tumour which was operated on in Beaumont Hospital last Friday. Five days later, Ronan is recuperating at home in Killiney and is naturally extremely grateful to all for their splendid efforts. By coincidence, tomorrow, Thursday, 28th March is National Brain Tumour Day. The request is that we might all mark it by wearing a hat "Crowning our Ceann" and supporting a simple text-based fund-raising appeal by Brain Tumour Ireland (see details below). Their work is of benefit to all, as Ronan is proud to testify!

Wear a Hat Day originally began with Brain Tumour Research UK as an annual event raising money to bring hope to brain tumour patients and their families.
This March, as Brain Tumour Awareness Month comes to a close, Brain Tumour Ireland are asking people from all walks of life to put on their favourite hat, be it at home, work, on the Golf Course, at Easter camps, or while with friends and family. Their ask is for you to share a selfie on your social media, and tag them in the selfie to help raise awareness of brain tumours.
