KILLINEY GOLF CLUB

Apologies for the delay this week - it's full throttle ahead in the the Office, Clubhouse and on the Course with preparations in full swing for the Killiney Mixed Invitational sponsored by Sherry FitzGerald starting on Sunday next.  Make sure to drop up over the week ahead and support our Killiney teams. You can be guaranteed a fabulous atmosphere with a brilliant buzz about the place and there is certainly great fun to be had.  Snack Catering available each day from Sunday to Thursday and the weather looks as if it may be kind to us also.  It's the highlight of the golfing calendar for many members and participants (from over 18 different clubs) with many arranging their holidays around this event!  64 Teams competing for their names printed in Gold and a hold of the Trophy. Not only that, Leo is also holding a 20% Sale on all clothing and footwear to celebrate this fantastic week. Make sure to not miss this one!

Course Update - 3rd/12th Green
Following the introduction of the local rule regarding the drainage channel to the right of the path at 3rd/12th green and having received member feedback, the matter was referred to Golf Ireland Rules Committee for their view. They consulted internally and after deliberation advised as follows:-
In light of the local rules on the score card, if a player decides a ball resting in the channel is unplayable, the player can drop their ball in the drop zone and play their next shot from there WITHOUT PENALTY.
This applies with effect from today 12th May 2022.

Guaranteed to be another fantastic night organised by your wonderful Social Committee.  They are certainly making up for the lost social events throughout lockdown!

Reminder: Care & Maintenance
Please repair all plug marks, divots, rake the bunkers properly (even if they are of not your own making), carry a sandbag and please keep up with the group in front – it's your golf course!
