Following last Wednesday's AGM, we would like to sincerely thank our outgoing club officers: Hon. President Brenda Sheehan, Hon. Treasurer Declan Morrissey and Hon. Secretary Clodagh Hughes and Trustee John Riseley for all their hard work and dedication to the club over the last number of years which is very much appreciated.
We would also like to welcome our new officers who will fill their large shoes: Hon. President Peter Bennett, Hon. Treasurer Eimer McGovern, Hon. Secretary Frank Brennan. Course Convenor Brendan Seaver and Trustee David Little, wishing you all the very best in your roles.
We are holding our final Six Nations Special this Saturday, not to be missed - see details below. Come on you Boys in Green, you can do it! Especially on the weekend that's in it - Happy St. Patrick's Day to one and all!
COURSE UPDATE
We are planning to return to summer cards and 18 holes from Thursday 21st March. Placing on the fairways and in the rough will continue for the foreseeable future. There will be a phased opening of the new tees and greens. On the 21st March the 5th green and tees will reopen. The new 8th tee complex will also reopen. There will be a temporary green in play on the 7th hole. The 7th tee will be open for play but play will be from mats initially. The temporary green on the 6th will remain in play for 21st/22nd & 23rd March (Thursday to Saturday). The new 6th green will be open on Sunday 24th March for the Captains Drive-In. This will be on a trial basis and with the hope when the nets are removed the birds do not return. The bunkers will not be in play as the ground conditions are currently too soft in the area for the machinery required to complete this task. The 7th green will take a bit longer to recover from the bird damage but we are hopeful weather permitting it may be ready by mid April.

We have had a number of complaints and requests for Ivan Cruise to be banned from entering any more of our raffles / draws during the Rugby Specials.
Hmmmm! How many times has he won a prize now? Promise it's not fixed, he just carries a lot of the luck of the Irish with him. This is his last chance anyway - let's see if he can win once again along with the Irish Team. See some photographs below from last weeks game (we won't mention the result).

A Taste of Killiney - Save the Date - 25th April 2024
Following our extremely well supported and successful Casino Night, the Social Committee are on to our next event. On Thursday 25th April, please join us for ‘A Taste Of Killiney’. We are hosting a Food & Drinks Fair in the club with a showcase of various wine, beer, spirit, cheese and food providers on the evening where you can indulge your senses with the various items on show. In addition, you can make orders for any items that excites your palate. Come along for an evening not to be missed. More details to follow.

J.B. Carr Diamond Trophy Competition 2024
The J.B. Carr is a trophy competition with a history going back to 1996. To be eligible members must be over 60 years old on 1st January 2024. The format is Scotch Foursomes Matchplay. Teams consist of 5 pairings. The combined handicap index limit is 30. It is envisaged that the first match of the draw will be played against Castle GC. It is provisionally scheduled to be played on Sunday 7th April or Sunday 14th April 2024, in Castle GC. The panel is currently being compiled and potential players will be invited to indicate their availability.
