Congratulations to KGC Member Caitlin Sherin who got her first Cap for Hockey Ireland in Sports Ireland Campus Abbotstown, in a warm up against Chile & Italy in preparation for the European Cup in Dusseldorf, Germany starting on 17th August next. We wish Caitlin & all the Irish Team the very best in Europe.

Blackrock Hospice Charity Day - Brownman
The Annual Killiney Charity Day in aid of Blackrock Hospice takes place on Sunday 13th August 2023. The timesheet for this event opens tonight, Wednesday 2nd August at 8.00pm.
Green and tee sponsorship would also be much appreciated.

There will be a raffle on the night with fabulous prizes ready to be won. To enter the raffle, put a donation in an envelope which you will find in the bar from Saturday 5th August. Put your name and phone number on the envelope and drop it in the Charity collection box. No donation is too small for this worthy cause!
There are lots of ways you can support the Hospice in this event - play in the competition, sponsor a line and/or tee, make a donation to enter the raffle.
PRO-AM 2023
The 2023 Killiney Golf Club Invitational Pro-Am for the Gerry Charlton Memorial Cup will take place on Sunday September 10th. The event will be sponsored by Paul Phelan and Valerie Charlton, to whom we are very grateful and appreciate their support. The main details are as follows:
· There will be 2 shotgun starts, at 9.00am & 2.00pm.
· We are aiming to have 26 teams -13 in both the morning & afternoon sessions. Teams will consist of 1 Professional and 3 Amateurs. Teams will be open to Men, Ladies & Juniors. Maximum handicap index for Men is 28, Ladies 36. All players must have a Golf Ireland handicap.
· The format for the team prize will be Stableford, best 2 nett scores on each hole to count. Full handicap allowance.
· The format for the Professionals will be 18 holes strokes.
· The cost per team will be €450. However, there is an early bird offer of €400 for payment received by the Killiney GC Office on or before Friday 11th August.
· The event will be run by the Southern Branch of the Professional Golfers Association and the Pro-Am Sub Committee from Killiney Golf Club (Keith Bardon, Leo Hynes, Paul Phelan).
· The Professional Prize fund is still to be confirmed, but will be in the region of €10,000. There will be prizes for the leading 7 Amateur teams, as well as Nearest The Pin and Longest Drive prizes for Men and Ladies.
· There will be lunch provided for the morning players at 2.00pm approximately and dinner for the afternoon players at 7.30pm approximately.

Members are reminded that all guests green fees must be paid prior to their round. It is the members responsibility to ensure this is done. If the pro shop is closed, please present payment at the bar. Your guest will need to provide their Golf Ireland details. Any breach will face disciplinary action.

Plummers V Edmondstown 44s
The Plummers played a fourball better ball 18H stableford competition last Friday 28th July v The Edmondstown 44s. The team of 12 from Killiney triumphed in a very tight match to retain the trophy in this annual match. The match was last played for in 2019 and it was great to have it revived. We enjoyed a superb meal here in KGC afterwards and many thanks to all in the club who helped with the day. Congratulations to the Plummers!
