Message from Captain John Waldron
We had sunshine most days for the Challenge Cup last week, where 32 men were whittled down to an exciting final on Friday between Jack Campbell and Richard Temperley.  It was a game of nip and tuck and it ended with Richard winning the Challenge Cup for 2023.
The Men’s golf teams were unfortunate in that we were narrowly beaten in number of the men's competitions in the last few weeks. We are still going in the Jimmy Bruen, the Bloom Cup, the Old Conna Seniors, the Boys inter-club and the Boys under 15 matchplay. I am hopeful one or all of these teams will bring home some Silverware.
The Tuesday invitational Committee will be sponsoring one mixed Tuesday event this year on Tuesday 1st August. So, if you have any female corporate clients or friends this is an ideal opportunity to invite them to come and play in Killiney.  Also please note all Tuesday’s cards must be returned by 8:30pm to allow for the closing of the competition, notifying the winners and their guests and on Super/Mini Tuesdays to allow good time for the presentations.
Captain Darina’s Prize to the Ladies takes place this coming Friday 23rd June. I wish Darina and all the Killiney Ladies fair weather and a great day of golf.
The next Men’s Prize presentation will be on Saturday 8th July at 6:30pm. Even if you are not a winner yourself, please come up and help the winners celebrate.
Invitation week starts on Sunday 2nd July, full details in the club diary (and below). Timesheets for these events are all live. These events book up quickly so if you plan on inviting guests to so as soon as you can.
The Timesheet Committee are considering various options that will allow members to play casual golf on unused competition lines. The solution they come up with will provide members the opportunity to play golf when it best suits them.
A big thanks to those of you who are involved in any of the many committees that make the club work so well. I could not do it without you.
I hope you are having a great golfing year and I look forward to meeting with as many of you as possible during invitation week.
